As leader of Partito Italia Nuova, Armando Siri’s carefully prepared 15% flat tax on natural persons and all forms of business income, including corporations, would jump start Italy’s moribund economy. PIN’s 15% flat tax would dramatically improve incentives to work, save, and invest, fostering an economic environment conducive to risk-taking and entrepreneurship. It would encourage businesses to expand and individuals to start their own businesses. It would stimulate job growth, which is vital to provide opportunities for Italy’s unemployed youth and new university graduates. The flat tax has been adopted in more than 35 countries, some small and some large, some advanced and others developing, all around the globe in Asia, Africa, Latin America, and Central and Eastern Europe. Scholars in the United Kingdom, Spain, Germany, and other countries have also drafted flat tax plans for their respective countries, but old generation politicians with old ideas continue to block these reforms.
